Analysis on mediating effect of nurses' information literacy between innovative behavior and organizational innovation climate in five tertiary grade-A hospitals in Tianjin

Abstract: Objective To analyze the relationship between nurses' innovative behavior and organizational innovation climate and information literacy in five tertiary grade-A hospitals in Tianjin,further explore the mediating effect of information literacy between innovative behavior and organizational innovation climate,in order to provide a reference for constructing the intervention program to improve the innovative behavior of nurses in Tianjin. Methods A total of 525 nurses from five tertiary grade-A hospitals in Tianjin were selected from April to May 2022 by using convenience sampling. The general information questionnaire,nurse innovative behavior scale,nurse organizational innovation climate,and information literacy scale were used for electronic questionnaire-star survey,and the data were analyzed. Results The total scores of nurses' innovative behavior,organizational innovative climate and information literacy in five grade-A hospitals in Tianjin were(33.53±6.84),(70.84±13.81) and(73.12±10.28)points,respectively. The total score of innovation behavior was positively correlated with the total score of organizational innovation climate and the total score of information literacy(r=0.613,0.548,both P<0.01),and information literacy played a partial mediating role between the two variables,with the mediating effect accounting for 35.7%(P<0.01). Conclusions The Nurses' innovative behavior,organizational innovation climate and information literacy in five grade-A hospitals in Tianjin are at the medium level,where is room for further improvement. And information literacy plays a part of the mediating role. It is suggested that nursing managers should establish a scientific and diversified nursing information literacy training system by creating a harmonious and friendly organizational innovation climate,improve their information literacy,cultivate their innovation enthusiasm and consciousness in the process of clinical practice,and then promote the generation of innovative behavior to meet the needs of patients and adapt to the development of modern clinical nursing.
