Study on effect of occupational commitment on occupational benefit and turnover intention of grassroots medical staff in Sichuan Province

Abstract: Objective To investigate the status quo of occupational commitment,occupational benefit and occupational stability of medical staff in primary medical institutions in Sichuan Province,analyze the mediating effect of occupational commitment on occupational benefit and turnover intention of medical staff. Methods Using convenience sampling method,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 387 medical workers in primary medical institutions in Sichuan Province from October to December 2021 by using general information questionnaire,occupational commitment,occupational benefit and turnover intention scales,and intermediary effect was analyzed by AMOS 24.0. Results The scores of occupational commitment,occupational benefit and turnover intention of 387 medical workers in primary medical institutions were (80.14±11.71),(132.38±9.65) and (10.54±2.96)points,respectively. The correlation analysis showed that occupational commitment,occupational benefit and turnover intention were negatively correlated(all P<0.05). The structural equation model analysis showed that occupational commitment and occupational benefit had a direct effect on turnover intention,and occupational commitment had a partial mediating effect on occupational benefit and turnover intention,the mediating effect was -0.227. Conclusions The turnover intention of medical staff in primary medical institutions in Sichuan Province is at a medium level,and occupational commitment plays a partial mediating role in the influence of occupational benefit on turnover intention. Improving the level of occupational commitment of medical staff helps to improve their occupational benefit and occupational stability.
