Abstract: Objective To assess the relationship between negative mood states and fatigue, sleep, training injuries, perceptual social support, and cognitive emotion regulation among newly trained officers and soldiers in a troop. Methods A questionnaire was administered to 2 651 newly trained officers and soldiers of troop using a convenience sampling method from March to June 2022. The depression-anxiety-stress scale, cognitive emotion regulation scale, fatigue scale, perceived social support scale,Pittsburgh sleep quality index scale, and a self-administered questionnaire were used to assess anxiety, depression, stress, fatigue, social support, sleep, and cognitive regulation strategies of the newly trained officers and soldiers, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0. Results The depression score of newly trained officers and soldiers was (8.02±2.18)points,the anxiety score was (8.08±1.93)points,and the stress score was(8.48±2.43)points. The differences in the anxiety, depression, and stress scores were statistically significant among officers and soldiers with different types of registered residence, and whether or not they have had a training injury in six months(all P<0.05). The results of correlation analysis showed that negative emotional state was correlated with fatigue, sleep, training injury, perceived social support, and cognitive emotion regulation(all P<0.05). The results of regression analysis showed that perceived social support, sleep, negative attention strategy, and fatigue were the main influencing factors of negative emotional state of officers and soldiers(adjusted R2=0.547,F=451.775,P<0.01). Conclusion It is necessary to explore a psychological service program for officers and soldiers suitable for new training conditions, discuss the role of positive emotions on the growth of psychological quality of newly trained officers and soldiers based on positive psychology.
