Abstract: Objective To understand the relationship between work family conflict, calling, and work engagement among police officers. Method From December 2021 to February 2022,a convenience sampling method was used to select 226 police officers from Leshan City and Suining City in Sichuan Province as the research subjects. The work family conflict scale,Chinese calling scale, and work engagement scale were used to investigate, and the data were analyzed. Results The score for work family conflict among police officers in Sichuan Province was (2.96±0.83)points,and the score for work engagement was (3.72±0.75)points. Work family conflict was negatively correlated with calling and work engagement scores(r=-0.306,-0.474,both P<0.01),while calling was positively correlated with work engagement scores(r=0.559,P<0.01). Work family conflict had a negative predictive effect on work engagement(B=-0.399,P<0.01),while calling had a positive predictive effect on work engagement(B=0.381,P<0.01). The calling could partially mediate the effect of work family conflict on work engagement, with a mediating effect of 0.126,accounting for 29.44% of the total effect. Conclusion Work family conflict can directly affect the work engagement among police officers, and can also indirectly affect the work engagement by influencing calling.
