Abstract: Objective To investigate the characteristics and cardiopulmonary function status of cardiopulmonary exercise test(CPET) parameters of the group of medical staff in Beijing hospitals. Methods From March 1st to September 1st,2021,basic information and cardiopulmonary exercise test data of 208 healthy medical staffs aged 22-83 years old from a hospital in Beijing were collected. They were divided into three groups based on age thresholds of 45 and 65 years old:young,middle-aged,and elderly groups. The range of physiological indexes for CPET in each age group and the trend of changes between groups were evaluated. Results The maximum oxygen uptake, anaerobic threshold oxygen uptake, peak power and peak heart rate of 208 medical staff showed a gradually decreasing trend with age. The median VO2 peak/kg of male medical staff in the age groups of 0-<45,45-<65,and≥65 years old were 31.3,25.45,18.35 mL/(kg·min),respectively. The VO2 peak/kg of female medical staff in the age groups of 0-<45,45-<65,and ≥65 years old were 28.2,21.2,15.05 mL/(kg·min),respectively. Conclusion The cardiorespiratory fitness of medical staff in Beijing Hospitals is within the normal range as verified by the Chinese prediction formula, and oxygen uptake, peak power, and peak heart rate decrease with age. Compared with the normal range given by Western countries, the cardiorespiratory fitness of medical staff in Beijing Hospitals is lower.
