Research progress on falls risk assessment and preventive management of older adults in the community

Abstract: With the increasing aging of the population,the problem of falls among older people in the community is a growing concern. Falls not only lead to physical injuries,but also may cause psychological problems,seriously affecting the quality of life of the elderly. A multidimensional assessment of physical function,disease status,psychological status,and environmental factors of the elderly can help to identify fall risk more accurately. This paper summarizes the factors related to fall risk,assessment tools and preventive management for older adults in the community,with the aim of reducing the incidence of falls among older adults,enhancing their self-confidence and independence,and providing references to safeguard the health of older adults,improve their quality of life,reduce the burden of medical care,improve the quality of community health services,and promote the harmony and stability of the family and the society.
