Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence of perceived stress on job burnout among telecommunications employees and the role of self-efficacy and job nature in the relationship between the two. Methods From July to August 2023,a survey was conducted on 34 816 telecommunications industry employees in some provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions using the stress perception scale, general perceived self-efficacy scale, and Maslach burnout inventory, and the data were analyzed. Results The perceived stress score of telecommunications industry employees was (38.22±8.21)points,job burnout score was (34.64±15.37)points,and self-efficacy score was (26.66±7.31)points. Perceived stress scores were positively correlated with job burnout scores among telecommunications employees(r=0.732,P<0.01),while self-efficacy scores were negatively correlated with perceived stress scores and job burnout scores(r=-0.407,-0.419,both P<0.01). Self-efficacy played a partial mediating role in the impact of perceived stress on job burnout, with the mediating effect accounting for 8.206% of the total effect value, and job nature played a moderating role between self-efficacy and job burnout(β=0.029,P<0.01). Conclusion Perceived stress not only directly and positively predicts job burnout among employees in the telecommunications industry, but also has an impact on them through the mediating effect of self-efficacy,which is moderated by the job nature.
