Analysis of the mediating effect of mental resilience on self-management and hearing function recovery in military patients with detonation deafness

Abstract:

Objective To explore the mediating effect of mental resilience on self-management and hearing recovery in military patients with detonation deafness，and provide reference for guiding clinical promotion of hearing function recovery in patients. Methods From August 2022 to April 2024，a total of 242 military patients who received the first treatment for blasting deafness in a grade-A tertiary hospital in Hefei City were selected as the study objects by convenient sampling method. A data questionnaire，mental resilience scale，self-management assessment scale for patients with sudden deafness，and simplified Chinese speech spatial sound quality hearing scale were used for investigation，and the data were analyzed. Results The total score of self-management，mental resilience and hearing function of 242 military patients with detonation deafness were （90.85±10.92），（81.43±5.75） and （420.81± 16.47）points. The psychological resilience，self-management and hearing function were all positively correlated pairwise（all P<0.01），and the mediating effect of mental resilience between self-management and hearing recovery was 96.3%. Conclusion Mental resilience plays a mediating role in the self-management ability and hearing function recovery in military patients with detonation deafness. Medical staff can improve their mental resilience，enhance their self-management ability，and then promote the recovery of hearing function.
