Abstract:

Objective To explore the influencing path of information literacy on innovation behavior of nursing interns, and to examine the mediating mechanism of scientific research ability between the two,so as to provide a theoretical basis for constructing a collaborative development training system of "information literacy-scientific research ability-innovation behavior". Methods From February 2024 to February 2025,a cross-sectional study design was used to conveniently select 260 nursing interns from a grade-A tertiary hospital in Shanghai, and questionnaires were conducted using the general information questionnaire, the nurses' innovative behavior scale, the nursing staff information literacy self-rating scale and the nurses' scientific research ability self-rating scale. The path relationship between variables was analyzed by structural equation modeling(SEM),and the Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating effect. Results The score of innovative behavior was (27.96±9.50)points,information literacy was (116.10±18.19)points,and scientific research ability was (57.25±24.17)points. Correlation analysis showed that information literacy and scientific research ability were significantly positively correlated with innovative behavior(r=0.322, 0.221,both P<0.01). Structural equation model analysis showed that the total effect of information literacy on innovation behavior was 0.800(95%CI:0.042-1.860,P<0.05),of which the direct effect was significant(β=0.397,95%CI:0.195-0.585,P<0.01),and the direct effect of scientific research ability on innovation behavior was also significant(β=0.298,95%CI:0.180-0.426,P<0.01). Scientific research ability played a partial mediating role in the relationship between information literacy and innovation behavior(β=0.118,95%CI:0.054-0.206,P<0.01),and the mediating effect accounted for 14.8% of the total effect. Conclusion Information literacy and scientific research ability are important predictors of innovative behavior, and scientific research ability plays a partial mediating role between them. It is suggested to establish an integrated training system of "information literacy-scientific research ability-innovative behavior" in nursing education, and enhance the innovation ability of interns by strengthening information skills training and scientific research practice.
