Cross-sectional study on influencing factors of eHealth literacy among 276 caregivers in medical and nursing institutions in Beijing urban area

Abstract: Objective To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of the eHealth literacy of 276 caregivers among caregivers in medical and nursing institutions in Beijing urban area. Methods From March 2021 to February 2022,a total of 276 caregivers were selected from medical and nursing institutions in Beijing urban area by using judgment sampling method.The present situation of eHealth literacy and its influencing factors were investigated by the eHealth literacy scale and general condition questionnaire,and the data were analyzed. Results The eHealth literacy score of 276 caregivers in medical and nursing institutions in Beijing urban area was(23.52±7.99)points,and the qualified rate was 25.72%(71/276).There were statistically significant differences in eHealth literacy among caregivers with different education level,education level of children,occupational recognition,degree of distress caused by work-related stress,degree of concern for the condition of the person being cared for,willingness to use relevant health public accounts and frequency of use of relevant health public accounts(all P<0.05).The education level of children,occupational recognition,degree of distress caused by work-related stress,degree of concern for the condition of the person being cared forand frequency of use of relevant health public accounts were the important factors that affect the eHealth literacy(β=0.136,0.121,-0.305,0.229,0.194,all P<0.05). Conclusion Totally 276 caregivers in medical and nursing institutions in urban areas of Beijing have low level of eHealth literacy,and it is related to the occupational recognition,degree of distress caused by work-related stress,degree of concern for the condition of the person being cared forand frequency of use of relevant health public accounts.
