Objective To explore the status of work connectivity behavior, psychological detachment, perceived work-family boundary control, and work-related quality of life among nurses in grade-A tertiary hospitals of Shenzhen City, explore the impact of work connectivity behavior on quality of work and life of nurses,as well as the multiple mediating effects of psychological detachment and work-family boundary control. Methods From June to September 2020,378 clinical nursesfrom threegrade-A tertiary hospitals of Shenzhen City were investigated by the general situation survey, work communication tool use scale, psychological detachment scale, sense of boundary control questionnaire, and work related quality of life scale, and the data were analyzed. Results The total scores of work connectivity behavior, psychological detachment, perceived work-family boundary control, and work-related quality of life among nurses in three grade-A tertiary hospitals of Shenzhen City were (11.31±2.88),(7.51±2.96),(22.77±4.77) and (108.74±18.10)points,respectively. The work connectivity behavior of nurses was negatively correlated with psychological detachment,work-family boundary control, and work-related quality of life(r=-0.387,-0.313,-0.281,all P<0.01).The psychological detachment was positively correlated with perceived work-family boundary control, and work-related quality of life(r=0.163,0.360,both P<0.01). The perceived work-family boundary control was positively correlated with work-related quality of life(r=0.282,P<0.01). The connectivity behaviornot only had a direct negative predictive effect on work-related quality of life(the direct effect was 0.31,accounting for 40.26% of the total effect),but also indirectly affected work-related quality of life through psychological detachment andperceived work-family boundary control respectively(indirect effects were 0.22 and 0.24,accounting for 28.57% and 31.17% of total effects respectively). The work connectivity behavior had a negative predictive effect on psychological detachment(β=-0.44,P<0.01),and psychological detachment had a negative predictive effect on work-related quality of life(β=0.49,P<0.01). The work connectivity behavior had a negative predictive effect onperceived work-family boundary control(β=-0.39,P<0.01),and perceived work-family boundary control had a negative predictive effect onwork-related quality of life(β=-0.39,P<0.01). Conclusions The psychological detachment and perceived work-family boundary control have multiple mediating effects on the impact of work connectivity behavior on the work-related quality of life of nursing staff. It is suggested that the nursing manager should be reminded to appropriately use the frequency of mobile phone use related to off-hours work. Secondly, nursing staff can try to actively participate in leisure activities outside work,so as to obtain physical and mental relaxation, and then devote themselves to work and work life quality in a better state.
