Abstract:

Objective To investigate the current status of knowledge, attitude, and practice(KAP) of residents regarding severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS) in Daxing District of Beijing City, and analyze the related factors affecting the KAP level regarding SFTS,in order to provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of SFTS in the future. Methods From November to December 2024,a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 946 residents in five towns and streets in Daxing District of Beijing City to investigate the baseline level and the KAP status of the target population with SFTS,and the data were analyzed. Results The awareness rate of protective knowledge for SFTS among 946 residents in Daxing District of Beijing City was 36.47%,protective attitude score was (8.18±2.60)points,and protective behavior score was (2.96±0.97)points. The results of univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the awareness rate of protective knowledge among the residents with different towns and streets, genders, ages, educational levels, occupations, duration of residence in Beijing, working environment, and frequency of engaging in outdoor activities(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the score of protective attitude among the residents with different towns and streets, ages, educational levels, duration of residence in Beijing, and working environment(all P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the score of protective behavior among the residents with different towns and streets, ages, educational levels, and duration of residence in Beijing(all P<0.05). The results of multi-factor Logistic regression analysis indicated that the duration of residence in Beijing was an influencing factor on awareness[OR(95%CI)=1.272(1.010-1.602)]. Middle-aged and elderly individuals,as well as those with lower education levels, had lower levels of KAP. Conclusion Residents in Daxing District of Beijing City have a low KAP level regarding SFTS. Therefore,a continuous health education program should be carried out to improve their awareness of self-protection.
