Abstract: Objective To study the status of sleep quality and emotional state of navy officers and soldiers in warships, explore their correlation and influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for maintaining physical and mental health of navy officers and soldiers. Methods From December 2021 to January 2022,394 officers and soldiers in a naval warship of southeast coastal area of China were selected randomly as study objects, and the states of sleep, anxiety and depression of which were investigated by Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),generalized anxiety disorder-7(GAD-7) and patient health questionnaire-9(PHQ-9). Results Among 394 navy officers and soldiers,166 objects(42.13%) had sleep disorders(PSQI>7 points),mainly including short subjective sleep time, long sleep latency, poor sleep quality and poor daytime function. Totally 122 objects(30.96%) had anxiety(GAD-7≥5 points) and 146 objects(37.06%) had depression(PHQ-9≥5 points). In addition, sleep was related to objects' age, military age and ship age(all P<0.05),but not to their gender, marital status, educational level, military level and occupational category(all P>0.05). The anxiety and depression were related to the age, military age, ship age, marital status and military level of officers and soldiers(all P<0.05),but not to the gender, educational level and occupational category of officers and soldiers(all P>0.05). The sleep status of naval officers and soldiers was significantly correlated with anxiety and depression emotions(all P<0.01). Conclusions The officers and soldiers in warships generally have poor sleep state, anxiety and depression emotions. The sleep status of them is affected by their age, military age and ship age,and is significantly correlated with anxiety and depression emotions. It suggests that the physical and mental health of officers and soldiers in warships, especially those with older age, longer military age and ship age, deserves special attentions synchronously. Advocating sleep guidance, psychological support and intervention, and strengthening the construction of ship medical services are conducive to maintaining the physical and mental health of officers and soldiers in warships.
