Study on relationship between perceived social support,occupational mission,occupational calling and job involvement among cardiology nurses in tertiary hospitals of Chengdu City

Abstract: Objective To explore the influence of occupational mission and occupational calling on perceived social support and job involvement among cardiology nurses in tertiary hospitals of Chengdu City. Methods From November to December 2021,458 nurses in the department of cardiology in 10 tertiary hospitals of Chengdu City were investigated by using general information questionnaire,perceived social support scale,occupational mission scale,occupational calling scale and job involvement scale,and the data were analyzed. Results The score of perceived social support,occupational mission,occupational calling and job involvement among 458 cardiology nurses was (58.83±12.56),(33.02±6.39),(35.40±8.60) and (36.96±5.62)points,respectively. The score of job involvement in cardiology nurses was positively correlated with the scores of perceived social support,and occupational calling(all P<0.05). The occupational mission of cardiology nurses played a partial mediating role between perceived social support and job involvement,with a mediating effect of 0.337,accounting for 39.0% of the total effect. The occupational calling played a partial mediating role between perceived social support and job involvement,with a mediating effect of 0.085,accounting for 9.8% of the total effect. The occupational mission and occupational calling played a chain mediating role between perceived social support and job involvement,with a mediating effect of 0.120,accounting for 13.9% of the total effect. Conclusion The job involvement of 458 nurses in the department of cardiology in 10 tertiary hospitals of Chengdu City is at a moderate level,and perceived social support can affect the job involvement of cardiology nurses through the mediating role and chain mediating role of occupational mission and occupational calling respectively.
