Abstract: Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and report quality evaluation of public health emergencies(PHEs) of varicella in Nanjing City from 2006 to 2022,provide evidence for further improving the epidemic control effect and reporting quality. Methods The information of varicella PHEs was collected by the National Public Health Emergency Management Information System, and the epidemiological characteristics and report quality were analyzed and evaluated by Excel 2010,SPSS 25.0 and Joinpoint software. Results From 2006 to 2022,113 varicella PHEs were reported in Nanjing City, with a total of 141 453 exposed people and 3 516 cases, and no deaths. Of the 113 varicella PHEs,one occurred in social welfare institutions, and the remaining 112 occurred in kindergartens and primary/middle schools. There was a positive correlation between the incidence of 113 varicella PHEs and the control time interval(r=0.593,P<0.01). The completeness rates of items in the final reports were 33.63%-100.00%,and there was statistically significant difference in the distribution of the final report among districts(χ2=121.19,P<0.01). Conclusion The overall report quality of varicella PHEs in Nanjing City is relatively high, but individual reports are not standardized, and it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation and training of health emergency personnel, improve the effectiveness of emergency response and the quality of reporting.
