Research progress on prevention and treatment strategies of AIDS under the background of monkeypox

Abstract: Acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) is a syndrome caused by human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) infection, and there is no effective means of prevention and treatment,so it was called super cancer. Monkeypox is a viral zoonosis caused by monkeypox virus(mpox) infection,which has been rapidly spreading worldwide since 2022. Monkeypox and AIDS share similar routes and groups of infections,which result in increasing risks for patients who infected with both diseases,monkeypox epidemic brought critical challenges to patients with AIDS. This article reviews the infection status,transmission routes,infected population,and current prevention and treatment methods of AIDS monkeypox patients,and point out problems we are facing now,in order to provide reference for the prevention and treatment of AIDS monkeypox patients in the future.
